2 Filipinos dead, 4 injured in tragic car crash in Singapore

Two women were killed and four others were seriously injured, all reported to be Filipinas, after a car slammed on the side road of Lucky Plaza in Orchard Road in Singapore, Sunday afternoon.

Some witnesses said that the car crashed through a metal railing and hit several people as per a report from The Straits Times.

The police said that the accident took place at around 4 in the afternoon.

“Two pedestrians, aged 29 and 35, were unconscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where they later died from their injuries. Four pedestrians, aged 30 to 43, were conveyed conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital,” authorities said.

The driver was arrested for causing death while an investigation is underway.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that the six casualties were brought to the Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Initial reports said that all the casualties were Filipinos.

“DFA OUMWA is checking the latest information about this tragic accident with our embassy, and all assistance will be provided to the victims,” the Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
