Filipinos who celebrate Christmas in Luneta leave volumes of trash

Filipinos who went to Luneta Park in Manila to celebrate Christmas Eve and welcome Christmas day at dawn on Wednesday left volumes of trash at the park.

Park cleaners collected trash despite continouos reminders from park officials to keep the place tidy.

GMA News reported that only few visitors brought reusable utensils as most of the collected trash were plastic forks and spoons.

Bottled water and styrofoam boxes were also found in the area.

Park officials said visitors did not segregated their trash.

More than 100 vendors were allowed to sell inside Luneta but the organization of vendors clarified that they helped clean up the trash.

Park officials said there has been an increase in visitors because of Star City’s shutdown.
