Three African men who broke into a small travel agency in Dubai and stole about Dh7,000 along with the security cameras had apparently not thought about the other surveillance cameras installed by neighboring shops.
The three smashed their way with blacksmith tools into the office late night, broke the accountant’s drawer, and stole the money inside.
To cover their tracks, they dismantled the security camera and took it with them, according to local newspapers.
Authorities discovered the following day that the security camera was gone but they did not give up. They checked a nearby shop’s security camera and viewed what transpired during the theft there.
“The camera showed the three Africans breaking their way into the travel agency… it also showed them leaving with the money and a camera,” the Arabic language daily Al Bayan said, adding that the three were nabbed by the police on the same day.
