Philippines’ FDA alerts consumers against five unregistered food products

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the Philippines has posed a warning on purchasing five unregistered food products as it may bring health hazards to the buyers.

The products are as follows:

1. ACD Spices Flavorings, Cheese Powder;

2. Twin M Whole Black Pepper;

3. Hell Energy Drink Strong Apple;

4. Hell Energy Drink Strong Focus, Functional Energy Drink; and

5. Hell Energy Drink Ice Cool Kiwi

According to FDA Advisory No. 2019-506, the agency cannot guarantee the quality and safety of the food products since it did not undergo the evaluation process.

The market was alerted on distributing the aforementioned products until they have been issued the proper authorization), a License to Operate (LTO) for the establishment, and a CPR for the food product.

“All concerned establishments are warned not to distribute violative food products until they have been issued the appropriate authorization, a License to Operate (LTO) for the establishment, and a CPR (Certificate of Product Registration) for the food product,” the FDA said.

The FDA encouraged the public to assure if the food product was registered with the agency by visiting its website at www.fda.gov.ph.
