Police nab 42 people for falsifying documents at ‘Recto University’

The Manila Police District-Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (MPD SMaRT) captured 42 people for running a printing industry without license and forging public documents along Recto Avenue in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Wednesday, December 18.

The MPD SMaRT conducted the raid along with Bureau of Permit and Licensing, Special Weapons and Tactics Team, Police Station 3, and other policemen, CNN reported.

Meanwhile, Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso accosted the suspects and addressed the barangay chairperson and policemen who tolerate such illegal activities.

“Manila Police District, I know you are watching this. If you’d still like to be alive, stop this. The next to be raided could be the police district, the police station, or the precinct,” Domagoso said to local reports.

“As long as I am the Mayor of Manila, you stop. We know you, we will find you, and you will not like it… Panahon na para maisawata ang Recto University,” he added.

Authorities believed that the mimeograph machine, printers, and dry seals were just few of the 10 recovered items used to falsify certificates, diplomas, IDs, and other documents.

According to SMaRT chief Major Rosalino Ibay Jr., only 62 operating printing business were considered licensed along Recto avenue, PhilStar reported.
