A Filipina nurse in Libya is currently at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a Tripoli hospital after suffering a heart attack.
In a tweet, Elmer Cato, Chargè d’ affaires at the Philippine embassy in Libya , said that nurse is now recovering from cardiac episode.
He also said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is now looking for possible assistance.
“On Saturday, @PhinLibya visited a Filipina nurse at the ICU of a Tripoli hospital where she is recuperating after suffering a heart attack to see what assistance @DFAPHL can extend to her. @teddyboylocsin,” Cato said in a tweet.
Last week, two Filipina nurses in Libya were repatriated to the Philippines. They were among 120 Filipinos flown home by different government agencies since fighting broke out in Tripoli eight months ago.
Cato said there are about 1,000 Filipinos still working in Libya. (TN)
