A woman passenger of a Jetstar plane didn’t want to pay excess baggage fees for going over her alloted 1kg carry on allowance.
So, instead of paying an extra $60, Rebecca Andrews opted to pretend that she’s pregnant. Andrews decided to create a baby bump and put some clothes on her bump; she also put a laptop on her back while she was at the Sydney Airport.
However her ploy failed when a real pregnant woman approached her.
In a report on Metro, she was asked by a pregnant woman when she was due to which she replied that she is already 5 months on the way.
Her mistake however was when she arrived late to her boarding flight that she created all the attention toward her.
“But as I walked my fake-pregnant ass down the gangway, I dropped my ticket and made a noise. So they all looked at me again. ‘As I bent over to pick up the ticket, the shape of my laptop down my back suddenly became apparent,” Andrews wrote in a travel site Escape.
“Excuse me! Is that a backpack you have on under your jacket?. I should have told her I had on a back brace but … hindsight, hey? I freaked out and blabbed on myself’,” she added.
In the end Andrews had to pay an extra $60 for her excess baggage.
