Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo has taken his commute challenge to the next level — from jeepney to motorcycle; and this time a tricycle in Bacolod City.
Panelo shared his commute photos to members of the Malacañang Press Corps.
When asked why he decided to take a tricycle, Panelo said it’ll be easier for him because the streets were full due to the ongoing Masskara Festival.
“Walang private vehicle na makapasok. Nag-reroute ng traffic because of the MassKara Festival,” Panelo explained.
The presidential spokesperson said he paid Php10 for the ride.
Panelo was criticized early this month for his comments on the statement that there is no transportation crisis in the country.
The Palace spokesman later on clarified that there is a “traffic crisis” but not “transportation crisis.”
On Oct. 11, he took the so-called Commute Challenge and went to Malacañang on a jeepney and motorcycle.
He arrived four hours late. Panelo then rejected the proposal to do it again.
And we should be impressed? Let him try to ride a bus or the MRT when it is raining. Or have him ride a tricycle through Tondo at night without a security team. Do those things and then maybe we can talk.
