The UAE’s top court saved an Asian woman from being deported after it abolished an earlier court sentence to expel her from the country.
A court of first instance in Fujairah fined the unidentified woman Dh2,000 and ordered her deported from the UAE after authorities caught her in a car with another man, according to local newspapers.
The woman appealed the verdict, but was once again ordered to be deported on charges of encouraging vice, which she denied.
“She appealed again with the Federal Supreme Court, which decided to cancel all previous sentences against her,” Al Khaleej daily said.
