Ten female foreigners illegally working as entertainers in a bar in Manila were arrested by police officers on Thursday.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno spearheaded the arrest after receiving information that some establishments in Manila are hiring foreigners as GROs and being used as fronts for illegal drug trade and crimes.
Russians and Pakistanis were among the ten foreigners arrested in the bar.
Authorities are now checking with the Immigration Bureau about the visa status these foreign nationals or if they even have the necessary work permit.
The City of Manila said that the foreigners do not have work permits.
Moreno said that they are set to file charges against the foreigners for working without a permit.
