The family of former Calauan, Laguna Mayor and rape-slay convict Antonio Sanchez broke their silence for the first time amid the controversy hounding their father’s supposed freedom from prison.
In an interview with some members of the media, the Sanchez family maintained their father’s innocence on the killing of two UPLB students in 1993.
Sanchez’ children insisted that their father’s case was a frameup and political opponents could be behind it.
Instead of apologizing to the families of the rape-slay victims, the Sanchez family fired back and said that they’re the ones who deserve an apology.
“In fact, you should all be the ones to apologize to us, you all had him imprisoned for 26 years without sin,” Allan Sanchez, the eldest son of the former mayor said.
The Sanchez children also questioned the ‘one sided’ justice system and why their father was prevented from benefiting under the Good Conduct Time Allowance Law.
Cried foul for singling their father out. They insisted that the law should apply to all.
“Why don’t you give him a chance?” Allan added.
