Hundreds go ill after suspected food poisoning at Imelda Marcos’ 90th birthday party

Over 240 people who attended the 90th birthday celebration of former First Lady Imelda Marcos on Wednesday had abdominal discomfort with some even vomiting after eating a breakfast of chicken stew with egg and rice and drinking water in Ynares Sports Complex in Pasig City.

Food and Drug Administration personnel took samples of the food to check if it caused the apparent poisoning, as per a report from the Associated Press.

The Eastern Police District (EPD) reported that paramedics and first responders rushed to the scene to attend to the victims.

The party was attended by over 2,500 of Marcos’ guests and followers.

Imelda Marcos’s son, Bongbong, has given a public apology with a promise to assist those who fell ill towards their fully recovery.

The police are still investigating the incident as of this writing.
