Licensed nightclub in Jeddah forced to close during opening night

White Jeddah, a licensed alcohol-free nightclub in Saudi Arabia, was forced to shut down by authorities during its opening night due to violation of ‘legal proceedings’.

Launched by Dubai-based Addmind Hospitality Group as a ‘halal’ club in Jeddah, the nightclub halted their opening event before its headline act, American singer-songwriter Ne-Yo, arrived.

The Saudi General Authority for Entertainment claimed that the nightclub agreed to a ‘different’ event and that the contractor had ‘taken advantage’ of the license to commit ‘unacceptable violations’.

According to reports, some Saudis are already questioning the nightclub’s dancefloor and its branding as a ‘halal bar’.

In time of the shutdown, artist Ne-Yo apologized to his fans on his Instagram post saying that he’s already on his way to the venue when he was informed of what happened.
