A Gulf national was sentenced to two weeks’ imprisonment by the Lower Criminal Court after a video of her dancing out of the sunroof of a car went viral, the News of Bahrain reported.
The woman was arrested after the 50-second video circulated online and was shared by netizens.
Authorities have reported that the woman’s face was covered as she danced to a loud music while her boyfriend, also a Gulf national, was driving the car along Juffair in Manama, Bahrain.
Both of them were arrested. The woman later revealed that she committed the act as she was in a “party mood”.
“We spent the night at an Arabian party, and we left around 2 AM. I saw the sunroof open and I decided to stand up and look through it,” she said.
