Less than 24 hours after the a 6.1 magnitude earthquake shook Zambales, a 6.2-magnitude quake jolted San Julian, Eastern Samar, Phivolcs said in an advisory.
The earthquake’s epicenter was located in San Julian, Eastern Samar, about 68 kilometers away from Tacloban City, the agency added.
The earthquake of tectonic origin rocked various areas of Visayas and the Bicol region – with up to intensity 5 felt in Tacloban City and Catbalogan City in Samar and intensity 4 recorded in Masbate City, Legazpi City and Sorsogon City.
The Phivolcs report also said aftershocks is expected.
No report of casualties as of press time.
On Monday, a 6.1 magnitude quake struck the town of Castillejos, Zambales, northwest of the capital, resulting to heavy damage to the Clark International Airport and other infrastructures in the province of Pampanga.
At least 11 fatalities and dozens more were injured by the quake, disaster officials said.
