PH Army opens over 5,000 recruitment slots

The Philippine has opened over 5,000 slots for recruitment.

Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala said in an interview with DZMM that they are currently looking for 5,387 recruits to be part of the Philippine Army.

He said that  4,777 will be allotted for enlisted personnel, while 610 will be officials graduating from the Philippine Military Academy.

Zagala said that there are several reasons as to why they are looking for a huge number of recruits this year.

He explained that many officers are retiring and that there are also some soldiers who resign or unfortunately die in the battlefield.

Hiring this much number of recruits will allow the army to continue to be “active and ready,” according to Zagala.

Zagala enumerated the qualifications to be part of the army saying that an applicant should be a natural born Filipino between the age of 18 and 23, who graduated from high school or completed at least 72 units in college, and is at least 5 feet tall.

He also clarified that female applicants are also welcome to apply.

Zagala said that applicants who will qualify for the rank of private will get P41,000 in monthly basic pay and allowances.

He said that those who would apply to become officials have the same qualifications but they should be from the Philippine Military Academy.

Those who have already graduated from college can also take officer candidate course and take the Armed Forces of the Philippines Aptitude Test.

Interested applicants can visit the website of the Philippine Army for further information.
