After four years, a former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was arrested in Pampanga for the alleged murder of a fellow OFW in South Korea.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested Yugoslav Magtoto in Candaba, Pampanga under a provisional arrest warrant which was issued by a Manila Regional Trial Court at the request of the South Korean police, reported GMA News.
Magtoto is facing murder charges for the 2015 killing of Angelo Claveria last year.

Based on the investigation into the case, Magtoto was the last person to be seen with the victim before he was reported missing in 2015.
Ronald Aguto, chief of the NBI’s international operations division said, “He (Claveria) was reported missing December of 2015, so that was the last time na nakita ‘yung tao. At na-discover ‘yung kaniyang skeleton April of 2018 sa loob ng septic tank.”
Magtoto returned to the Philippines in 2016.
The suspect also allegedly stole some of the victim’s belongings, including his credit card that was used to withdraw cash, said NBI spokesperson Auralyn Pascual.
“Kinuha pa niya ang kaniyang bag, ‘yung kanyang phone, ‘yung kanyang debit card at winidraw pa ‘yung pera ng ating victim to the amount of P47,600 in Korean won,” Pascual said.

Claveria, it was later learned, had allegedly turned down Magtoto’s romantic advances.
It was the South Korean police that issued an Interpol Red Notice against Magtoto after DNA tested showed that the samples taken from the skeletal remains matched that of Claveria’s mother.
“There had been a red notice that was issued, tapos pero hindi naman ganu’n kabilis ‘yung proseso ng Pilipinas, that’s why there had been a formal request made by the Republic of Korea for a provisional warrant of arrest,” Pascual said.
For now, the NBI is still waiting for the extradition request for Magtoto from South Korea.
