A Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight attendant received praise after helping one of the passengers who gave birth while onboard a Manila-bound flight.
In a Facebook post, PAL employee Paulo Infante shared that flight attendant Marigold Parreño successfully helped a passenger give birth to a healthy young girl while on their way to Manila from Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
“What a very proud moment for PAL! FA Marigold Parreño assisted a passenger in labor during PR 683 (DMM to MNL) and successfully helped her deliver a healthy baby girl four hours before the plane landed in Manila,” Infante’s post read.
The post also shows a photo of the passenger holding her newborn baby with the cabin crew.
In a statement, PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said that the airline company is proud of its cabin crew for its readiness in emergency situations as such.
“They are safety and service practitioners who live and breathe Buong Pusong Alaga. With presence of mind and teamwork and genuine care, they succeed in answering the call of the situation,” said Villaluna.
