Their Highnesses Rulers of the UAE pardoned more than 1,000 inmates in the country in celebration of the 47th National Day.
President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the release of 785 prisoners across the country to grant them another chance for a new life and to relieve their families hardships.
The President also settled their debts and fines.
A number of prisoners in the different emirates was also given pardon.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, meanwhile, has ordered the release of 625 prisoners.
Dubai’s Public Prosecution has begun coordinating with Dubai Police to implement the order.
In Sharjah, His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has ordered the release of 182 prisoners of different nationalities from the punitive and reformative institutions. The pardon comes within the framework of Ruler of Sharjah’s keenness to give the pardoned prisoners a chance to start a new life, and alleviate the suffering of their families.
His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, has ordered the release of 65 prisoners from penal and correctional facilities in the emirate for good conduct considerations to give the prisoners a chance to start a new chapter in their life, bring joy to their families, and to reintegrate into society.
In Ajman, His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has ordered the release of 90 prisoners. Sheikh Humaid expressed his best wishes to the prisoners and his hopes that they will use this fresh opportunity to integrate healthily and positively back into society.
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, also ordered the release of 205 prisoners in the emirate.
Likewise, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, has ordered the release of a number of prisoners, who have demonstrated good conduct during their sentences in punitive and corrective institutions in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain.
