Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ largest carrier and most affordable airline, marks its 5th anniversary in Dubai’s busy airline industry ready to break its own record of passengers served this year. Cebu Pacific has already recorded 219,461 passengers as of January-September and is ready to beat its 2017 record of 229,449 passengers.
Ingrid Salud, International Marketing Manager at Cebu Pacific, said “We are catching up to last year’s number. With a few months left in the year, we will reach almost a full year’s number of passengers.”
Vision for the future of airline connectivity
The airline’s vision is to continuously grow their fleet and operations as they aim to take delivery of over 45 brand new Airbus and ATR aircraft to support both their short-haul and long-haul expansion plans. They aim to serve more passengers as they plan to open new routes while continuing to provide the best rates for seats and optimal customer service whether on the ground or up in the skies.
As of press time, Cebu Pacific’s passengers from Dubai enjoy flights towards the Philippines’ main tourist spots: Palawan, Cebu and Davao via easy flight connections through Manila or Cebu Pacific’s six other strategic hubs: Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Clark, Davao, Iloilo, and Kalibo. They can also book flights to as many as 26 international destinations, including Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam; Bangkok, Thailand; and Siem Reap, Cambodia.
First flight
Since taking its first flight back in 1996, Cebu Pacific has flown and connected over 150 million passengers to date, flying 19 million during 2017 alone. The airline aims to fly over 22 million this year as it offers more than 2,400 flights weekly across 63 destinations over Asia, Middle East, Australia, and Guam.
From its humble beginnings as the first Filipino carrier to land in Dubai back in 2013, Cebu Pacific now sees continuous growth as their Dubai revenues have increased to 26.6%.
Cebu Pacific currently has 67 aircraft fleet including 36 airbus A320 and 10 ATR 72-600. It has become the leading carrier in the Philippines offering flights to 37 domestic destinations and obtaining a 55% domestic passenger and 47% domestic cargo market share in the country.
The winner of 2018 TFT Excellence in Philippine Connectivity also offers the highest standards of safety being one of the 417 airlines with an IATA Operational Safety Audit certification, an internationally-recognized and accepted benchmark for airline safety which was designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline.
