A plastics warehouse in an industrial area in Ajman was burned down on Friday, September 21.
According to the Ajman Civil Defense, three teams were able to extinguish the fire without any casualties. The industrial center, management and the shelf center managed to tame down the blaze despite the presence of flammable materials in the warehouse.
Brigadier Rashid Jassim Majlad, deputy director of the General Department of Civil Defense Ajman, said that the civil defense teams rushed to the site of the incident to control the fire and extinguish it. They started cooling the place down to suppress the fire from reigniting or spreading to other places.
He added that the teams came up with a plan to contain the fire in one area.
He also appealed to factory owners to follow the standards and protocol of prevention and safety, and to store materials properly and maintain fire alarms.
