Beatles fans who want to pose on Abbey Road do not have to travel to London because Bohol has made their own version of the iconic pedestrian lane.
Named Tajang 3D Lane, the street painting was made to appear like the pedestrian lanes are actually floating.
According to the Bohol Society of Tourism President Reigh Monreal, the Tajang 3D Lane is only the second among their plans to develop projects that will attract local tourism and protect the mangrove gardens on the sides of the Causeway.
The first project they developed was the 99 Hugot Lines, a collection of quotations painted on concrete benches for visitors to reflect on.
Meanwhile, netizens are expressing concern that the street painting might cause accidents because of its optical illusion.
“Nice 3D, but not safe especially sa mga sasakyang mabilis ang takbo baka biglang preno, cause of accidents,” wrote one commenter.
“Hindi dapat pinaglalaruan ang mga road signs, that might cost lives,” said another.
However, street paintings like these already exist in other countries and the Municipality of Loon assured that the pedestrian lane only looks three-dimensional on camera and does not have the same view up close.
