Sold for $450 million in New York, Salvator Mundi is considered to be the world’s most expensive painting. It is one on the 20 pieces in existence painted by the Renaissance artist.
H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, previously called the painting, UAE’s gift to the world. It was originally planned to be available to the public on September 18.
It was not disclosed what motivated the move. However, residents are expecting to see it before Christmas.
