Al Dizon Banzil, the OFW who won Dh1,000,000 in last year’s Al Ansari Exchange Rewards Millionaire Raffle Draw, returned to this year’s draw to share how the money he won completely changed the life of his whole family back home.
Banzil shared that stepping on stage where he received a million dirhams last year felt surreal, adding that he cannot imagine how this year’s finalists feel as they await for the final draw.
“Being here right now feels so surreal. It brings back lots of good memories and unforgettable experience. I am thankful for Al Ansari Exchange for giving me this opportunity to be here in the same event, same venue where I won the million a year ago,” Banzil said.
Banzil also shared that after winning Dh1,000,000, he was able to buy his family in the Philippines their dream home and dream car. He was also able to pay his debts from his loans.
“It’s a lot [of money]. All the blessings that I have been receiving, I enjoy them as much as possible. My family lives right now full of joy and happiness beyond our expectations,” an emotional Banzil said.
“We got our dream house, our dream cars, and aside from that, I settled my debts and my loans. Now I can assure my daughter and my wife that they have a place to live in which we can call home,” he added.
For Banzil, however, the most important thing is that his family can now “sleep well and not worry about tomorrow”.
Banzil and his family will be flying to visit Disneyland in October. He said that he will always be thankful for the blessing he received a year ago.
Back-to-back win for OFWs
Following Dizon’s speech, the draw commenced another OFW, Gina Realuyo Soriano, a domestic helper in the UAE for ten years now, was drawn to win the Dh1,000,000 in this year’s draw.
The OFW said that she will use the money she has won to put up a business in the Philippines, as well as to pay for the education of her family.
Eight winners went home with Dhs10,000 cash each, including another OFW named Honesto Corpuz.
Nevertheless, despite winning a huge sum of money, Soriano promised not to leave her employers in the UAE.
“Congratulations to Gina. She is the second Filipino millionaire of the Al Ansari Exchange Promo 2018. But she also set the record for being the first female millionaire of Al Ansari Exchange,” Rashed Ali Al Ansari, General Manager of Al Ansari Exchange told The Filipino Times.
