The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) party revealed the 24 names that may possibly be part of its senatorial slate for the coming 2019 elections.
PDP-Laban president Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III submitted a letter to President Rodrigo Duterte which contained the list of possible senatorial bets.
Aside from himself, the other PDP-Laban members that Pimentel suggested in the letter include Special assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go; Presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino; Davao City Rep. Karlo Nograles; Maguindanao Rep. Zajid “Dong” Mangudadatu; Bataan Rep. Geraldine Roman; Makati Rep. Monsour Del Rosario; Folk singer Freddie Aguilar; Broadcast journalist Jiggy Manicad; Negros Occidental Rep. Alfredo “Albee” Benitez; Quirino Rep. Dakila Carlo “Dax” Cua.
Pimentel said that PDP can also choose senatorial bets from the following “friends of PDP-Laban”, namely Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio; Bureau of Corrections Director Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa; Actor Robin Padilla; Actor and former Sen. Lito Lapid; Former Interior Secretary Rafael “Raffy” Alunan; Columnist Ramon Tulfo; Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque; Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano.
Aside from the names mentioned above, the letter also said that there are 5 reelectionist senators belonging in the party. They are Senator Cynthia Villar, Sonny Angara, JV Ejercito, Grace Poe, and Nancy Binay.
“I hope that the party leadership can sit down with you, as the party chairman, at the earliest possible time so we can talk about party matters and prepare for the the fast approaching May 2019 elections,” Pimentel addressed President Duterte in the letter.
