Pinoy couples turn to IVF to have a child

A prestigious fertility institute in Taiwan headed to the Philippines last week to help Filipino couples conceive children using the latest reproductive technology Asia has to offer.

Lee Women’s Hospital held consultation fairs in Manila on August 6 and Davao on August 8 attended by hundreds of couples wanting to get pregnant. Among the attendees were successful couples who conceived healthy babies and are now parents.

Established in 1986 and now the leading IVF (In-Vitro fertilization) facility, the hospital is a Guinness World Record holder for gathering the most number of test-tube babies in one place, reported The Manila Times.

The hospital also featured a Filipino couple seeking fertility treatment in their Facebook page. The woman was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and she has been waiting for 13 years to have her own child.

In a separate Facebook post, Pinoy mom Maybelyn Fernandez shared her experience when she returned to the facility after a successful pregnancy.

“All we wanted then was for our little girl to have a photo taken with the good doctor, but Dr. Lee made our trip even more special by surprising us with a tour of the whole facility,” she wrote in a post.

“He [Dr. Lee] even showed Olivia where they had safely kept her when she was just an embryo. I was amazed,” she added.

She also expressed her gratitude to Dr. Lee for helping them have a baby.

“This is the man who made it all happen for us. Because of him, we are now able to go through this wonderful journey called parenthood.”

Responding to parents who want to experience parenthood, the hospital said: “It will be our honor. Our team will try our best to make your dreams come true”
