Fil-Am kid beats Michael Phelps’ record

While other kids are scared of the water, a Fil-Am kid stepped up and broke an Olympian’s swimming record.

Clark Kent Apuada, 10, won the 100-meter butterfly at the Far West International Championship in California, reported CNN.

With a record of 1:09:38, Clark stole Michael Phelps’s record of 1:10:48 at the Far Western Age Group Record set in 1995. Phelps is a decorated swimmer with 28 Olympic medals.

Clark is a member of the Monterey County Aquatic Team. His four years of training made him a savant, according to his coach.

Poking fun at his name, Clark is now dubbed as Superman in social media.

“I knew superman was the only one that could beat Michael Phelps,” teased a commenter on Facebook.

Meanwhile, another joined in asking if Superman’s namesake will follow the steps of Phelps.

“I wonder if he will also join the Olympics, he has plenty of medals to collect”
