A Filipino photographer bagged a bronze prize in the Moscow International Foto Awards (MIFA) for his portfolio which captured Filipino visuals with a modern twist.
Photographer Rommel Lugada won bronze in the Portfolio-Fine Art category of the prestigious award-giving photography event.
Lugada travelled the Philippines to capture ten colored and black-and-white images using only natural lighting while playing with shadows, shapes, forms, and patterns.
“All composed with natural lighting and mostly chasing with sunlight while exploring other images with shapes, forms, textures, rhythm, patterns, point of view, framing and simplicity in composition,” MIFA said of Lugada’s portfolio on their website.
Some of Lugada’s photos were taken using only handphones and pocket cameras.
Lugada had previously received several awards for his photography, including recognition from the International Photography Awards in the Philippines and US, and from the Tokyo International Foto Awards in 2017.
Photographs of MIFA winners will be showcased in the Best of Show exhibition in Moscow.
