Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III revealed that he will have to take a leave from his famous noontime show, Eat Bulaga, after he got elected as the new Senate President.
The Senate has elected minority leader Senator Tito Sotto as new Senate President on Monday afternoon, May 21.
Sotto, the 29th Senate President, has replaced Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III after a resolution signed by 16 senators surfaced seeking for a reorganization in the Upper Chamber.
However, due to his new responsibility, he would no longer appear on television with his “dabarkads” on Eat Bulaga.
“Yes, magpapaalam muna ako [sa Eat Bulaga!],” Sotto said.
Sotto was one of the original hosts of the show, which has been airing for four decades now, together with Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.
When asked if he will still appear on the said noontime show on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays when the Senate has no sessions, the new Senate President answered, “Hindi na siguro, hindi na muna. Mag-uusap kami nila Vic at Joey at ni Tony Tuviera.”
Tony Tuviera is the owner of T.A.P.E. Inc., the producer of the longest-running noontime show in the Philippines.
