A rollercoaster in Universal Studios Japan experienced a technical jam on Tuesday, May 1, leaving 64 passengers suspended in the air for up to two hours.
The amusement park said the Flying Dinosaur rollercoaster’s two carriages stopped halfway through the 1,100-meter ride.
Riders were left in a flying position 30 meters (100 feet) above the ground.
The amusement park said all passengers were evacuated safely. However, the last passenger had to endure waiting for two hours before he was brought down.
Universal Studios Japan issued an apology and said the accident was caused by a motor-regulating device placed on the rails of the rollercoaster.
The ride immediately resumed operations after some repairs and safety checks.
