A Dubai-based company surprised the public as it unveiled the world’s first powdered camel milk formula for babies aged 1-3 years on the first day of the 23rd edition of Gulfood 2018 last February 18.
Named “Camelicious”, manufacturer Emirates Industry for Camel & Products aims to provide an alternative milk formula for infants who are allergic to cow’s milk.
Compared to cow’s milks, Camelicious has no known allergens and contains 50% lower fat and a larger quantity of iron, and Vitamin C, according to Camelicious.
Camelicious’ General Manager Saeed Juma Subaih was proud to present their product as it “represents an integral part of the Arabic and Islamic culture in general and the UAE culture and heritage in particular” and it “genuinely complements the UAE values and traditions”.
The dairy producer is determined to become the leading company not only in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) but in the whole world in building a strong and sustainable camel milk industry.
The newly-introduced product is set to hit the shelves of establishments in UAE soon.
