Iloilo International Airport resumes operation

The Iloilo International Airport resumes its operation October 16 after a Cebu Pacific plane that veered off the runway was successfully extracted from the airport.

The Manila International Airport Authority helped in towing the disabled aircraft, ABS CBN News reported.

On October 13, the Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 461 (Manila-Iloilo) swerved off the runway, which prompted its captain to initiate an emergency evacuation.

In their official statement, Cebu Pacific said that all 180 passengers and six crew members were safe.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines closed the airport’s runway until Monday afternoon to ensure proper airport operations.
