A security guard in Dubai was arrested after kidnapping a six-year-old boy by claiming that he was the boy’s biological father.
According to the prosecutors, the boy was at a horse-riding school in Al Khawaneej when the 33-year-old Pakistani defendant tried to kidnap him.
The mother of the boy said she was waiting for her son to finish horse riding when the man arrived with his children and tried to take away her son by pulling his leg.
“I was there with my son when the man came and started pulling him by his leg as he was on the horse, telling him to accompany him to his home to play with his children,” The National quoted the boy’s mother as saying.
The mother said the Pakistani man was her close friend until she severed her ties with him.
She said back in 2009, he tried to flirt with her and convinced her to break up with her husband.
“I told my husband, who stopped [him] from coming to our house, but the harassment didn’t stop, so I reported him to police,” she said.
But there’s a plot twist in the story. The Pakistani submitted a copy of marriage certificate claiming that he had been married to the boy’s mother, and that he is the biological father of the boy.
In response, the mother submitted a marriage certificate proving that she was already married before and her husband is the father of all of her three children.
Prosecutors noticed that the marriage certificate presented by the Pakistani was dated the day after the boy was born.
“How could he be his son and the fruit of a marriage he claims happened in 2012 when I am still married to my husband and gave birth to the boy in 2010?” the mother said.
The defendant denied the kidnap charge and asked the court to have a DNA test to prove his claims.
The next hearing for this case is on October 10.
