The Bureau of Immigration (BI) clarified that they have already lifted the standing hold departure order (HDO) against actor Robin Padilla, which prevented him to leave the country.
This comes at the heels of Padilla’s Instagram post saying that he was supposed to fly to China to attend an event but was barred from leaving supposedly due to a HDO.
“Ako’y pinalad na maimbita ng mahal na prinsesa ng Sultanate of Sulu para tumungo sa China..pero sa hindi maipaliwanag na pangyayari ay hindi ako makakaalis ng bansa dahil ako ay may hold order sa bureau of immigration,” Padilla said in the post.
Padilla was convicted of illegal possession of firearms in 1994, but was released three years later after being granted conditional pardon by former President Fidel Ramos.
BI spokesperson Maria Antonette Mangrobang denied that the bureau has not prevented the actor from leaving the country.
“Negative po talaga sa records ng BI Port Operations Division that Robinhood Padilla went through immigration procedure in the last seven days nor do we have any record that he was not allowed to depart recently,” Inquirer quoted Mangrobang as saying.
Padilla shared in the post that he couldn’t think of any reason why he was barred from leaving, besides his dragon tattoo.

Dragon tattoos have been in the spotlight recently after Senator Antonio Trillanes accused President Duterte’s son, Davao Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, of having one, linking him to the notorious crime group called the Triad.
