Baguio City Council has granted its go-signal to treasure hunter Elisep Cabusao to conduct a search for the legendary Yamashita treasure.
After a closed-door meeting with Cabusao, the city councilors gave their approval to all stages of the treasure hunt for the first time, on conditions that they will be allowed to view the actual extraction and that the city will get a percentage of the treasure believed to be buried underneath the Baguio Convention Center, reported the Manila Bulletin.
The local government gave him 60 days to do the activity and locate the truckloads of treasure buried by Japanese soldiers during World War II, which information was provided by a Japanese soldier.
And if he finds it, there will be a 35-35-30 percent sharing among the city government; the national government through the National Museum; and for him. -KCO
