LBC rolls out hassle-free document processing service

LBC Express, Inc., the world’s leading courier and cargo solutions provider to the Philippines, has come up with yet again another service seen to greatly address specific needs of overseas Filipino workers – this time, that on processing document authentication from the Philippines.

Used to be when an OFW would need relatives back home to do the leg work for their requirements like birth and marriage certificates, clearance with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), or license renewal with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

Doing so was usually cumbersome as the OFW would rely on the relative’s availability; and costly due to added overhead costs like meals and transportation. Estimates peg the total amount spent by an OFW asking a relative to process the authentication for him at a bare minimum of Dh875.

On the other hand, an LBC-processed authentication would cost Dh850 with the document to be handed over to the OFW within a maximum period of a month and a week’s time.

More to the point, having the LBC do it is hassle-free, fast and affordable.

The process starts with the OFW going to the embassy or consulate general to get a Special Power of Attorney (SPA) allowing LBC to represent him or her in the needed transactions back home. This takes three to five days.

LBC then accepts the required documents – application form, ID pictures, passport photocopy and the SPA, among others – and sends them to a “liaising partner” in the Philippines which works on them and sends the processed papers back to the country of origin, all together taking three to four weeks.

The OFW is then contacted to be informed that the processed document has arrived and ready for pick up.

Veronica Rey, LBC marketing communications officer, said LBC has also started processing authentication for college diploma red ribbons within Metro Manila.

The document processing services of LBC assist Filipinos in complying with UAE requirements for employment application and processing. The UAE Ministry of Labor requires authenticated diplomas or educational certificates in the processing of employment documents for Skill Level 1 professionals who have Bachelor’s Degree (University Degree) or higher qualification.

This is applicable for jobs categories in the following designations: Manager, Engineer, Doctor, Teacher, Accountant, Accounts Clerk, Marketing Specialist, Quantity Surveyor, Draughtsman, Executive Secretary, Pharmacist, Administration Officer, Reservation Officer, Safety Officer, Public Relations Officer, Computer Operator, Advertising Designer, Graphic Arts Draughtsman amongst others.
