The De La Salle University Green Archers beat the University of the East Red Warriors, 77-71, in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup Sunday night at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Justine Baltazar and Aljun Melecio led DLSU with 15 and 14 points, respectively, to give the Green Archers their fourth win in six outings.
Earlier, Far Eastern University overpowered Adamson University, 72-53, to reach the quaterfinals of the tournament pitting teams from the UAAP and NCAA. FEU posted its fifth win in six games tying San Sebastian’s win-loss record in Group B, composed of NCAA teams.
Arvin Tolentino led the Tamaraws in scoring with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
