A travel website has named the Philippines as the world’s second most “Instagrammable” destination this 2021.
Big 7 Travel released its Top 50 list. They based it on a scoring system that analyzed the amount of hashtags per destination, survey results from their social media audience, and input from their editorial team.
The article described why the Philippines got the second spot.
“Home to incredible natural wonders like an underground river and tranquil rice terraces in addition to a vibrant culture and history spanning several millennia; and over 7,500 islands – the Philippines as a whole are extremely Instagrammable,” it said.
“From the bustling capital of Manila, complete with colorful colonial streets to the absolute oasis of Boracay, the gram opportunities here are endless,” it added.
Dubai in the UAE made it to the 6th spot where the travel website described it as a country “basically made for Instagram”.
“If you want an ultra-luxe aesthetic full of glamour and style, Dubai will be the insta-hub of your dreams,” it said.
It also made mention of places where travelers can have plenty of ‘gramming’ like the Burj al Arab; Atlantis, The Palm; and Dubai Miracle Garden.
Japan gained the top spot on the list.
Big 7 Travel said it had more than 53 million hashtags on the social media site.
The other Top 10 include Paris (France), New York City, Istanbul (Turkey), Havana (Cuba), Sydney (Australia), London, and Chicago. (ES)
