Tourists flock to this province in PH to experience ‘Kawa Bath’

Want to experience “being cooked” in a huge cauldron called kawa? Just two hours from Caticlan, tourists could enjoy various activities in Tibiao, Antique like kayaking and trekking but most of them go to this place to experience the Kawa Bath.

Tibiao may not be as popular as the other tourist destinations like Boracay and Puerto Princesa but they offer a unique service tourists have been going for.

This includes spa (the native way) called kawa bath, quite odd yet fascinating way of taking a hot bath.

Large kawas used for hot baths were used before to process molasses but as technology came, the use of it became rare.

In order to utilize these kawas, residents of Tibiao used it to sell as their own version hot tubs or spa.

The water inside the kawa is first warmed up to the suited temperature for a hot bath. Flowers, fragrant leaves, and herbs are scattered on the water to have the wonderful aroma.

Tourists can now bathe inside the large kawa and relax while looking like he is being cooked for dinner. The allowed number of person inside the depends on the size of kawa.

 

Tourists who are tired from walking, trekking, or doing any strenuous activity should experience Kawa bath because it relaxes and soothes tired muscles.

 

While taking a nice hot Kawa bath, tourists can also check the sceneries offered of Antique at day or stargaze under the blanket of stars at night.

For just P250 per person in 30 minutes, Kawa bath will surely re-energize tourists and make them feel fresh again.
