UAE President meets delegations of US–Russia–Ukraine talks in Abu Dhabi

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with the heads of delegations participating in the US–Russia–Ukraine trilateral talks being hosted by the UAE, as part of efforts to promote dialogue and explore political solutions to the Ukraine crisis.

The talks, which opened in Abu Dhabi, are attended by US presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner; Igor Kostyukov, head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces; Kyrylo Budanov, chief of staff to the Ukrainian president; Rustem Umerov, secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council; as well as senior officials from both Russia and Ukraine.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed expressed his best wishes for the success of the discussions and for outcomes that could help end a conflict that has lasted for years.

He reiterated the UAE’s longstanding commitment to encouraging constructive dialogue and supporting diplomatic efforts to resolve regional and global crises.

The UAE president also stressed that the country supports all initiatives aimed at achieving a peaceful settlement to the Ukraine crisis in a way that serves the interests of all parties and contributes to global peace and stability.
