A total of 2,300 personnel from various entities were deployed by Dubai authorities to respond to the adverse effects of yesterday’s weather conditions, which left roads and low-lying areas flooded until today, March 10.
Several social media posts by Dubai authorities such as the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Dubai Media Office showcased emergency response teams demonstrating “high levels of preparedness in managing emergency situations caused by adverse weather conditions throughout the emirate.”

Despite the floods and heavy rains, the teams carried and utilized more than 700 units of equipment including 250 tankers, 300 rainwater pumps, over 180 emergency vehicles, field survey vehicles, machinery and other heavy equipment, to deal with water-logged conditions.
These first responders were deployed by the RTA, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, and Nakheel, who responded to emergencies and mitigated the impact of heavy rains that struck the UAE over the weekend.
According to the Dubai Police, they have received a total of 10,232 calls between 06:00AM and 3:00PM yesterday on its emergency and non-emergency hotlines. The emergency hotline 999 recorded 9,275 of these calls, while the non-emergency hotline 901 logged 957 calls.

In light of the current weather conditions, Dubai authorities urged the public to exercise caution when navigating the roads and to avoid water-logged areas, valleys, and low-lying areas as adverse weather conditions continue.
They also advised the public to call the 999 hotline solely for emergency situations and use the 901 hotline for all other non-emergency purposes.
