The official launch of Kalayaan 2024 was held at the B-Hub of Burjuman Mall on March 8, with invited guests, partners, media, and other stakeholders gracing the event.
This annual extravaganza has evolved into a symbol of unity, talent, and diversity, with the 2023 edition attracting an estimated 30,000+ footfall from across the UAE and beyond, solidifying its position as one of the world’s largest Filipino migrant community celebrations.
Kalayaan serves as a dynamic platform for Filipinos to exhibit their talents and celebrate their unique culture in their second home, the UAE. The upcoming celebration holds special significance as it commemorates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UAE and the Philippines. The one-day event promises to be a vibrant blend of entertainment, culture, and community spirit.
In his statement to media, His Excellency Alfonso Ver, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, said, ”It is with great pleasure that I note that this year’s celebration of the 126th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the UAE. Therefore, I enjoin all Filipinos to keep in mind these two significant events that make 2024 a banner year for us, as we undertake our celebrations this year. I congratulate and give my best wishes to the team behind Kalayaan 2024, and all other groups as they prepare for this grand occasion.”
Enthusiastic participants from all corners of the Emirates, including private and business sectors and educational institutions, are poised to contribute to Kalayaan 2024’s success.
