The Abu Dhabi Police General Command, in cooperation with the Integrated Transport Center, has announced the speed reduction from 140 kilometer per hour (km/h) to 120 km/h on Sweihan Road from Al Falah Bridge towards Abu Dhabi International Airport starting on Sunday, June 4.
In a tweet on Thursday, the Abu Dhabi Police said the move was made to enhance traffic safety.
“In order to improve traffic safety, Abu Dhabi Police requests that drivers on Suwaihan Road from Al Falah Bridge to the direction of Abu Dhabi International Airport obey the posted speed limit,” it wrote.
“Effective from Sunday, June 4, 2023. Speed limit is set at 120 km/h,” it added.

According to traffic studies, reducing speed leads to improvements in traffic safety levels on the roads as well as gradual speed reduction on the highway.
With this, the Abu Dhabi Police have called on motorists to adhere to the new speed plates and drive safely.
