A Filipino tourist bound for Dubai was offloaded twice at Manila’s airport due to tight immigration screening.
According to a report by GMA News, the passenger had a valid tourist visa and was able to present a return ticket and bank records.
However, immigration officers required him to present an “affidavit of support” from his sister, who resides in Dubai.
The passenger didn’t have the document, and his mother argued that he had paid for the trip himself.
Immigration officers stated that the passenger failed to meet the requirements, including the affidavit of support, which he was given during his first offloading.
The incident highlights the Philippines’ efforts to prevent human trafficking, as immigration authorities continue to conduct tight screening procedures.
This comes after a recent viral social media story about a woman who missed her flight due to lengthy and unreasonable questioning by immigration officials, including being asked to present her graduation yearbook.

Philippine officials explained that these screening measures are necessary to protect Filipinos from illegal recruitment scams.
