Man drowns in CamSur for going after envelope with Php 16,000 ayuda

A man from Camarines Sur died after drowning in a river for following an envelope containing Php 16,000 financial aid from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

In a GMA News report, the man has been missing for three days identified as 40 year-old Joebeth Galletes.

He was found dead and floating in the Bicol River in the town of Libmanan.

Galietos went to the town of Sipocot together with his family to withdraw from the government’s program, as per reports from Police Files Tonite.

While on their way back, the envelope containing money and documents fell from the victim’s hand.

The victim then decided to jump in the river but he never surfaced again according to the report.

Initial reports said that the victim could have been hit by strong water current due to inclement weather conditions on that day.
