DMW eyes opening regional offices

The newly-created Department of Migrant Workers is optimistic that with their fresh budget next year, they can be able to open regional offices to further improve their services for OFWs’ families hailing outside the Greater Metro Manila area.

Ople said that they are planning to open 16 regional offices.

“By next year, the DMW shall have sufficient funds to establish regional offices to service the needs of OFW families and potential OFWs across the country,” Ople said in a Sunstar report.

The DMW chief said that they are hoping to have enough budget to open the offices.

Ople previously thanked lawmakers at the House of Representatives for approving their proposed P15.2 billion budget for 2023.

“We draw inspiration and courage from the kind words of support for the DMW’s budget from the committee chair Rep. David “Jay-Jay” Suarez and all its members,” Ople said.
