President Bongbong Marcos has met with key officials fron the United Kingdom and Japan during his travel to the United States.
He also met some economic leaders during the side meetings at the United Nations General Assembly.
Marcos met with former UK Prime Minister Anthony Charles Lynton Blair where they tackled the “optimistic peace process in the Bangsamaro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
“We tackled the optimistic peace process in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and explored concrete ways to address other priority issues in the global economy such as food security, climate action, and trade,” said Pres. Marcos Jr. in his social media account.

Marcos and Blair also discussed issues in the global economy like food security, climate action, and trade.
Japanese Foreign Ministry Press Secretary Hikariko Ono said that Marcos also met with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida where they talked about the importance of the international community opposing unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force in the East and South China Sea, as well as economic coercion.
In a Reuters report, the Japanese leader also vowed to help Marcos to help the Philippines become an upper middle income country by next year.
