The Abu Dhabi Police have warned of an AED 3,000 fine for illegal transportation of passengers in private vehicles, stressing that motorists operating illegal taxi services will face action.
Authorities warned of the dangers associated with illegal transportation of passengers and its negative effects on their security and safety.
In addition, the Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers of private vehicles not to transport passengers without permission from government agencies.

Authorities likewise urged the public to use the approved and licensed taxis that conform to international safety requirements and standards and to cooperate in combating illegal transport, in order to preserve the safety of all while stressing the importance of co-operating with partners to address this behaviour and enhance security and community awareness.
The Abu Dhabi Police stated that dedicated campaigns to detect offenders would continue to be launched in collaboration with the Integrated Transport Centre, their strategic partner in Abu Dhabi as the police caught the motorists during inspection campaigns carried across the emirate during last year.
