Overseas Filipino Workers are now required to pay their monthly contributions to Pag-IBIG and are now obligated to submit their Pag-IBIG membership ID to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration or POEA.
In a joint statement, both agencies tell OFWs to secure their Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG) membership ID number when using the POEA website. The new requirement hopes to make payment of Pag-IBIG contributions more convenient through the POEA website.
“The POEA shall now require all OFWs and aspiring OFWs to provide and encode their Pag-IBIG Member ID number [Pag-IBIG MID] in their e-Registration System account,” POEA and Pag-IBIG said.

OFws and recruitment agencies are also reminded to comply with the new policy which aims to further improve the lives of Filipinos abroad.
The Pag-IBIG membership will also be needed during the processing of the overseas employment certificate or OEC.
The POEA and Pag-IBIG completed their system integration for the new premium collection scheme last February.
“All licensed recruitment agencies, POEA frontline personnel and Philippine Overseas Labor Offices [POLOs] are requested to help disseminate, remind, and assist their OFW-clients regarding this joint advisory,” the two agencies said in a joint statement.
