The number of jobless Filipinos has dropped to 2.93 million in January this year.
The data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed that the unemployment rate settled at 6.4 percent during the month which was lower than the 7.4 percent recorded last October and the 8.8 percent registered in January last year.
The PSA estimated that there were 3.5 million unemployed people in the country and 3.96 million in January last year.
